4 Tips to Avoid Gaining Weight

1 – Your diet is your lifestyle.

The diet, contrary to what is assumed, it is not a period of a few weeks of sacrifice to remove extra kilos, but the proper way to eat throughout the year and then lifetime. If you diet to lose weight and then you leave it to eat uncontrollably, you can never manage to be successful. You must know your body and know if you easily gain weight; if so, you should pay attention to what you eat and how much you eat. If you tend to gain weight, you should avoid excess carbohydrates (flour and sweets) and trans fats. You should have protein (lean meats, chicken, fish), vegetables and fruits (dietary fiber and vitamins) and drink plenty of water which is not only good for your body, but it also provides satiety.

2 – Exercise is the complement of your diet, not the other way around.

It is no use of exercise to lose weight; you lose weight with a diet that forces you to spend more calories than you consume through food. The exercise is supplementary to increase caloric expenditure and is also excellent for your health. It molds your body, so that in a reasonable time you will see it in great shape. Remember, exercise is added to the diet, and not vice versa. If you complement your diet with exercise, the spectacular results will appear fast.

3 – Avoid obsession

If you weigh yourself every day, two things can happen, either you do not notice that you lose weight fast enough, or notice weight swings between one and three kilograms from one day to the other. Both are absolutely normal depending on your body; if you tend to put on weight, it is possible that your metabolism will take time to lose weight. If you are at the right weight, you may one day hold back more liquid which is the most common cause of oscillation in weight. Ideally, check your weight from one week to the other and be aware of the changes.

4 – Plan Meals and Routines

If you plan in advance what you will eat, where and when it is more likely that you avoid harmful foods, like fried foods, junk food and snacks with high caloric content. Prepare your meals and take them with you to your work. If you buy your food daily, choose dishes with fiber protein and moderate carbohydrates. If you exercise, you can get help from a personal or gym trainer to put together a good workout with weights and aerobics.
