Start with sanding the whole exterior of the house
You can use 60 grit DIY sandpaper, but it is faster to use an automatic circular sandpaper. Masks should be used and you must reach all areas of the log house, including the terrace, door frames and windows.
Repair Possible Cracks
After sanding, you will be able to look better if there are cracks or holes. Using a special wood filler, they should be covered to prevent the water seepage and the entry of different insects. The holes are more dangerous for the reason that they can be a sign of the presence of woodworms. The worms enter and create furrows through the inside of the wood. It must be blown in the hole and if any wood remains, it is a sign that they have dug a groove and must be treated by a specialist.
Apply a primer
With a brush, apply the product that acts as a fungicide and insecticide. It will return the color and moisture of the wood, while protecting it from fungi and insects.
Apply second layer
It is the layer that protects the wood, which returns the shine. Ideally, it should be applied with a painting machine to distribute the product in an even manner with continuous movements.
