Steps of the Installation of a Bathtub

For installing a bathtub, using two wooden boards below the feet, locate the bathtub in the required position. The wooden boards will serve to spread the weight of the bathtub throughout the area of the table instead of focusing all the weight on its small legs. The next objective is to ensure that the bathtub is well leveled. This can be accomplished by checking the leveler and correcting the feet of the bathtub until it is well-adjusted.

To install the wrenches, attach the end of the longer connector to the appropriate pipe by making a compression joint, then do the same with the other wrenches. Turn on the water supply and check all connections and pipes for leaks and adjust if necessary. Fill the bathtub and also check that the spill pipe works well. Finally, locate the bathtub panels as described in the manufacturer’s instructions. Paving and sealing around the bathtub should be done after it has been used at least once, as this can be fixed in the final position.

Putting New Keys

If the tails of the new keys are plastic, you will need a plastic connector to prevent damage to the strands. The end of one connector may be placed in the plastic tail of the key and the other end will provide a connection with existing supply pipes. If you need to install a combination wrench, you will need to reduce the connectors, which connect to new 10mm pipes with 15mm pipes.

Then, position the key in mounting hole inside bathtub ensuring that the washers are in place between the faucet keys. Secure the keys in place with nuts provided by manufacturer. Once the keys are secured in place, the pipes that come with the kit can be connected to the tails of the keys. The keys can be connected using copper corrugated pipes or with standard key connectors. The type of design should be connected first to the ends of the keys, squeezing with hands. The water pipes can then be connected to the other end. You should then be able to adjust both ends with a wrench after they have been connected.

Paving around Bathtub

In the area where bathtub touches the tile, it is necessary to seal the joints with a little silicone putty. This is important because the joints can move enough to break a rigid seal, causing water to penetrate the wall between the bathtub and the tiles, leading to complications with moisture and possible leaks.

You can choose from a variety of colorful sealers to use. They are sold in tubes and cartridges, and are capable of sealing joints up to 3 mm wide. If you have to seal something larger than that, you can put some wet rolled up newspaper or some string. Always remember to fill bathtub with water before sealing to allow the movement of the bathtub in use to give you a more real feel of how to work. The sealant can easily break if you do not take this natural bathtub movement into account.

Alternatively, ceramic or quadrangle tiles can be used on the shafts of the bathtub. You can also use plastic strips that are easy to cut to the desired size, and are also easy to obtain in any market. It is recommended to seal the tiles using water-resistant adhesives.
